Classroom Overview

There are five classrooms at Nonotuck, and large indoor play space, an art studio, and our outdoor playgrounds with vegetable garden areas, climbers, sandboxes and lots of play equipment.

Access to the Mill River means that our children spend time learning about this natural resource throughout the year.

Our program is year-round but class placement is generally based on the age the child is by September.

Polliwog (Toddler I) serves the youngest children entering our program, from age 15 months to 2 years old by September. A maximum of 7 children are enrolled in this classroom each day.

Frog and Toad Rooms (Toddler II) are older toddler groups serving children who are between the ages of 2 and 2.9 years old by September. A maximum of 9 children are enrolled in the Frog Room and a maximum of 8 are in the Toad Room every day..

Periwinkle (Preschool I) serves children who are 3 or older by September. A maximum of 16 children are enrolled in this younger preschool classroom each day.

Chameleon (Preschool II) serves children who are 4 by September. Children in the class generally go to kindergarten after Nonotuck. A maximum of 18 children are enrolled in this older preschool classroom each day.

Children are usually enrolled in a particular classroom from when they enter until the following fall.
